Our Team

Jenel has been part of the Lakeshore team since 2015. She enjoys the challenges of office work, working with the public, helping people, and getting to know patients. At the office, Jenel can be found with a calming energy that makes any patient feel welcome and at ease.

In her spare time, Jenel enjoys reading and spending time with her beautiful family, her husband and kids. She can be found watching her kid’s various sporting events like soccer, basketball and baseball.

In 2012, Alexandra graduated from MCC with her associate’s degree in science and an associate degree in applied science of dental hygiene. Since 2012, she has been a practicing dental hygienist. Alexandra has been a team member here at Lakeshore since 2014. She is certified in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. As a child, Alexandra always enjoyed going to the dentist and knew she wanted a career in the medical field. She has always enjoyed sharing her passion for oral care with her patients.

On her days off, Alexandra can be found with her beautiful family, her husband and 2 kids, Sawyer and Colden. They love to spend time as a family in the great outdoors. Alexandra and her family often go hiking in the Adirondacks or boating locally along the lake. They also have 5 adorable chickens.

In 2012, Stephanie graduated from the MCC dental hygiene program. Since 2013, she has been a practicing dental hygienist and worked with our team. Stephanie is certified in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. She successfully expanded her clinical skills through obtaining her dental laser certification. Stephanie truly prides herself over the relationships she forms with her patients and enjoys helping them to become the healthiest versions of themselves. 

Outside of work, Stephanie loves spending time with her beautiful family, her husband and two boys, Sutton and Wesley. In the winter, they enjoy snowboarding at Bristol Mountain. In the summer, they love hiking, kayaking and gardening.

In 2021, Hanna graduated from the dental hygiene program at MCC. Due to the uncertain times during the Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to continue her work within the hospitality industry. As of 2025, she missed patient-care and through sheer determination completed her board exams. By the springtime, she started working for Dr. Popelka and his phenomenal team. Hanna even obtained her certification in anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration by 2026.  Her perseverance through challenging times is a true testament to the level of care she has for each and every one of her patients.

On her days off, Hanna can be found spending time with her friends and family. She has a loveable German Shorthaired Pointer named Bruce. Hanna has a passion for cooking and discovering new recipes. She also has an appreciation for nature and loves being outdoors as often as possible.

In 2015, Lauren started as an intern working with Dr. Popelka and his phenomenal team, which ultimately inspired her to pursue a career as a dental assistant. She discovered a passion for helping people be more confident in their smile. In that same year of 2015, Lauren obtained her NYS license and national certification as a registered dental assistant (RDA). 

On her days off, Lauren can be found doing yoga, hiking or boating. She loves to spend quality time with her husband and 2 kids, William and Josephine. Fun fact, Lauren has a cat named Maya, and a tortoise named Sheldon.

In 2022, Kayla first began working with Dr. Popelka and his wonderful team at Lakeshore. Before she worked with Dr. Popelka, Kayla started as a dental assistant in 2020. Since the age of 10, she has been an active patient of Dr. Popelka’s at Lakeshore Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. Prior to becoming a dental assistant, Kayla went to school to be a nurse; she has always naturally gravitated towards the healthcare industry and aiding in the welfare of others. Today, Kayla is passionately pursuing continued education within the dental field. 

In her free time, Kayla is an avid reader who always enjoys a good cup of tea. Some of her favorite genres include science fiction, fantasy and romance. She loves spending time with her sweet dog, Jesse, a terrier mix.

Mia started as a dental assistant in 2020. The opportunity to work in the dental industry found her by chance, which resulted in Mia discovering a passion for oral surgery and caring for her patients. She enjoys working within the healthcare-dental industry and having daily personal interactions with patients.

In her free time, Mia can be found traveling, boating, or hiking. She also loves spending quality time with her husband and their beautiful fur family. As a true animal lover, Mia has 3 dogs named Gus, Denali and Leo, and 2 cats named Shady and Mew.

Carissa has been working at Lakeshore as a dental assistant since 2024 and this is her first experience within the dental industry. Due to her passion for hygiene and care, Carissa was naturally drawn to the field of dentistry. She is currently working towards being accepted into a dental hygiene program through MCC, where she will complete the 2-year program to become a dental hygienist. As one of the newest members, Carissa has been learning much from other members of this phenomenal collaborative team here at Lakeshore. 

In her spare time, Carissa can be found at the gym, going on hikes, or spending time with friends and family. She loves spending time with her adorable dog named Cooper, a Cavalier King Charles.
